The ‘Federació Catalana de Donants de Sang’ (Catalan Federation of Blood Donors) was born with the aim of bringing together, promoting and disseminating the altruistic donation of blood and plasma in Catalonia. The organisation intends to encourage donations and guide society in an the ethical and responsible way, driving and stimulating community participation through their daily work.

The images showcase are a sample of illustrations where created as part of the visual identity of the booklet that volunteers recieve when collaborating with the institution. Through the visual langugage created with the ilustrations, key moments of the process of these donations are communicated in an inclusive, peaceful and welcoming way. Not only serving the educational purpose initially intended for, they were later used for communication materials do to it’s popularity.

The graphic direction for the illustrations focuses on soberly representing the simplicity and transparency of the work carried out by the federation, giving a 360º change to their communication aesthetic used up until that moment. The illustrations highlight the donor and their donation as the protagonist, always seeking to focus the attention on the elements that give life to the clients core values.
